The climate is as integral a part of Sandoval County as its culture. Although the region enjoys four distinct seasons, weather extremes are rare. While most of the precipitation falls in late summer, showers usually last less than an hour. Fall brings brilliant changing leaves to the high country and river bosque. Winter days in the 50s are not uncommon; and spring prompts brilliant blooms of the native flora and fauna.

Since temperatures can vary from morning to night, it's wise to dress in layers that can be added or removed easily.
